Getting back in touch with photoshop painting
After a brief hiatus from photoshop I decided to look back at different styles of paintings and try my hand at them. Much like some of my previous painting I would spend between an hour to a day depending on the technique of the painting. Each painting I produce is for my own enjoyment and to develop my skills.
Noir City
This relatively simple painting in the style of a noir comic was a type of painting that personally I find easier than others and like the effect of. I find it simple to capture the light and depth with this style of painting.
Untitled SnowScene
This was a new style of painting for me. I kept its composition simple to focus mainly on the painting technique. I did not use solid lines to define my painting instead using different brush strokes to define colour and texture. I found some areas of the painting more successful than others with the ground texture being done particularly well, whereas I find the tree to be less so. The different method I used I find to be distracting and does not fit the rest of the painting.
