My Search For a Placement
With my return back home I have started to look for a placement at an architectural practice. I find this can be quite challenging with some queries seeming to fall on deaf ears. It is during these moments where I remind myself about my passion for design and architecture, sometimes this is reading articles and others I produce illustrations and drawings of designs that have inspired me. See below an image of Richard Neutra’s Lovell House.
Upon coming back I found it was time to reorganise my portfolio and CV as I had let them fall out of date. This had always been a point of contention for me as I was never truly happy with my previous ones, so i was naturally hesitant to make new ones.
Fortunately, I have been able to talk to a friend of my family who is a fully qualified architect who’s experience I have found invaluable. He has been able to provide insight into what to write and showcase. With this nudge in the right direction, I have found my new portfolio and CV leaps and bounds above my previous iterations.
I can only be hopeful now I find a placement and in the meantime develop my skills. I find it is important to not be discouraged during this time searching as an opportunity will arise with time.
