My Family Trip to Binibeca
Sun, Sea and Synchronized Diving
The summer of 2018 my family went on a holiday to Menorca more specifically Binibeca. This holiday had already inspired some paintings even before we flew over there (see my next blog). I have been away with my family a number of times before but this was different, normally we have an action packed holiday with theme parks and hotels. This time we had a villa for us all which was just a short walk to the coast.
We never had to walk far to get to the beach, coast or shops which was ideal as my grandparents could only go so long in the sun before needing a break. Right down the road from our villa was possible the most beautiful cove I have ever seen with crystal clear water (which was also relatively warm), beautiful wildlife and it was big enough with a conveniently placed rock to jump into. Me and my cousin spent the next week perfecting our synchronized diving and trying to figure out new typed of flips to do into the water. My history of trampolining came in handy for that one with me always going first for the new flips, more often than not I would end up upside-down or backwards on my first few jumps, but we always figured it out.
The village of Binibeca plays host to interesting costal Mediterranean architecture with white rendered walls, archways and narrow passageways. It was always fun to explore finding new restaurants around each corner for the night and keeping cool in the day.
