Liverpool Albert Dock Pavilion
Taking advantage of unused space adjacent to the Albert dock this pavilion is designed to provide an environment for people to gather, and act as a catalyst for future events at Liverpool’s waterfront.
Located adjacent to the Albert Dock along a key route, the site allows people to stop take a break and observe the surrounding. The site’s orientation provides views towards the Albert dock and along Liverpool’s waterfront.
Using materials inspired by the site with a red brick corridor and columns painted red, I have also chosen materials that provide a sense of comfort such as the pine board roof. The geometry of the roof provides shelter with its overhand whilst also providing a feeling of comfort as it curves down to cover you. This also ensures that the structure does not interrupt your view outwards towards the docks.
